Burying Pride

I am very proud of my work and everything I've done this far. However, one problem I have is that I'm too prideful. It's hard for me to lowball my work for what I believe it's worth. But you have to do what you have to for business. I put everything I have in my ebooks and everyday I pray I get a phone call or an email from someone who shows interests. But the fact is nobody has and I owe it to myself to keep pressing on.
On July 1st I'll be releasing my newest ebook The Merlin Show I've decided that I'm going to give this away for free. It's my hope this will help get my name out there and people will pay attention but I have to say it hurts. It hurts to put everything you have into each work only to have it ignored and yes maybe it's ego. But in the interest of business and I know how great this can be, I will be releasing my next work for free on Amazon. I hope readers will enjoy and please spread the word, thank you.

Dead Pool Game Review

So I played Dead Pool the vidoe game today and I have to say it has made me a fan of the character. For those that may not follow comics or the Marvel universe, Dead Pool is a mercenary with incredible powers he received from various experiments which eventually also lead to his insanity. Armed with various powers such as strength, teleportation, fast healing, and an arsenal of weapons, Dead Pool is character that can either be a villain sometimes or a hero depending on who his target is. The game is rated M for sexual content, language, gore, and extreme violence but personally it's so cartoonish that I couldn't take the violence seriously. I couldn't take a lot of the game seriously but then again it's the main reason I enjoyed it.
Dead Pool is full of spontaious humor that keeps the gamer glued to the screen, I wish I could spoil but I rather you try it for yourself unless your under age. The gameplay is very simple with combinations of gun and sword action which lead to lots and lots of blood being splattered everywhere it's practically coming out of the tv. The only downside to this game really is the graphics aren't anything special and the game is incredibly short! I played it for exactly 3 and 3/4 hours and I was already finished. There are side challenges to keep you going but they're minimal and uninteresting at best.
Overall, the game is decent and I would give it a 7 out of 10 rating. While it's funny and the action is entertaining, it doesn't last long in this short but sweet game. There are cameos from familar faces such as x-men like Wolverine, Rogue, and Psylock that show up to help fight a familar villian. This game deserves it's M rating for everything mentioned above but if your a parent that doesn't care about what your kids play, you are a kid, or your a fellow nerd like me then I'm pretty sure you don't care about why it's rated. The game is retailed in the US at $49.99 which is $10 less than normal games and a fair price.

The Merlin Show synopsis

A year ago, I started to try one more time and run for my dream in being a successful author. Today I'm working on my 4th ebook which will be made available for free and soon, I'm going to start branching out of Amazon and start putting my work on the Nook. I'm very proud of my work to day even though they haven't sold much but like I said, it's only been a year so I'm hopeful. Now I release upon the world my first short play, The Merlin Show. A parody of modern day talk shows mixed with a legendary tale.
If there's 2 things people like to watch for entertainment it's parodies and talk shows so I figured, why not combine them to make a short funny play. What better tale to help bring this to life than the tale of King Arthur? Think about it, a child from a king who manipulated a woman, who then rises to be king himself and marry a woman who would only cheat on him with his best friend. To make matters worse he would be manipulated into having intercouse with his half-sister and they would have a child of incest. If that doesn't sound like something that would make a great talk show topic then I don't know what does.
With the hardest working wizard in talk shows with his trusty troll by his side, The Merlin Show is something good to read if you're looking for a break. A short and sweet piece for you to pick up, laugh and finish to put you in a better mood and enjoy your day. It'll be out sometime next month and I'll be sure to mention it. Until then, until the next is written.

Gas Prices and Electric Cars

Don't you just hate it when gas prices go up so fast and come down so slow? Ever since this whole business with gas prices and cars that get 5 miles to the gallon, life has gotten a little harder for working class Americans. But I have to ask, why are people complaining about a problem we have caused? Yeah people blame George W. Bush because he started wars in the middle east, oil companies for trying to squeeze every dollar away from us and others blame car manufacturers for not making gas efficient models. But lets be honest, the only ones that should be blamed is ourselves.
People drive cars that are "gas guzzlers" that create more pollution and soak up millions of gas a year that help in the rising cost of gas. Now I understand that they "want" it. But if that's what you want to drive, then stop complaining about why gas is so high because you're the ones making the problems worse. If you want to drive a car that's going to be a monster on the road but be efficient. Get a hybrid or electric car and you'll have the best of both worlds. Right now most major car companies are developing cars that don't even need oil, let alone gas.
That's the only way this energy crisis will end in this country, when we get over our selfish need for luxury and realize the greater good. If you want to drive around a car that's going to eat up your gas and your wallet then that's your business and I respect it. Again, I just write this because I'm tired of all the complaining because in the end, we're responsible. There are ways and yes they are expensive to get a hold of, especially working class Americans. Hopefully when they start becoming more affordable in a few years, we won't even need gas stations anymore but we will have to deal with auto-mechanics at car repair centers.

Honoring my Father on Father's Day

I Have a Dad

I have a Dad.

He loves me when I’m good.

He punishes me when I’m bad.

He never does it because he can.

I have a Dad.

He loves to make me laugh because of how I smile,

no matter how lonely or sad I am.

I’m proud to be his son.

I have a Dad.

He is there to guide me,

even when I get mad

and I lose all my sanity.

I have a Dad.

He is there for my mother, sisters and me.

He always gives an ear and a shoulder to our problems.

When my other friends see us, they begin to cry.

They cry for something they don’t have.

I cry because I have a Dad.

Man of Steel Review

When it comes to Superman, he's arguably the most popular superhero of all. He was one of the first and always set the standard on what it meant to be a hero. He came in many forms such as Kirk Allen, Geroge Reeves, Christopher Reeve, and recently Brandon Routh. There have been ups and downs in the various versions of the franchise in the comics, cartoons, and mostly downs come from the movies. It seems that after Superman 2 the satisfaction viewers get from the movies has been in a constant downward spiral. The common denominator, there was never a challenge for the man of steel.
This is what director Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan finally brought to the table with Man of Steel. The challenge that Superman faced was no super computer, no green rock, and not a giant mountain he had to lift out of the ocean. He had to make a choice between who to be, a savior of earth or a partner to the leader of a dead world. On his quest, he runs into Lois Lane and the two begin their iconic relationship that will aide his decision on what to do when facing General Zod. When the music stopped, the ending became obvious and left the movie wide open for hopefully a sequel.
It was a great action pack reboot. Not really a classic Nolan but definitely Snyder's directing along with great acting and great story but people need to have an open mind because if they're stuck on that 1970s Superman, they're not going to enjoy it. This is more of a movie for the fans of this generation who want to see Superman in a fight that they normally would see in the cartoons. If you were one the fans that were upset because of the "no red underwear" or "he's not like Christopher Reeve" then don't bother because this is a "Reboot."
Whether your a fan of Superman or you just like action movies, Man of Steel is your movie to see this weekend. It definitely surpasses Iron Man and in my opinion passed Star Trek Into Darkness but not by much. There will be gliches here and there in the movie that will force viewers to come up with their own conclusions on what happened but when the action starts, all pondering stops. It was a nonstop thrill ride and when it ended, I just wanted more. Man of Steel gets a 4 out of 5 just because of those gliches but it's definitely what Superman fans are looking for as long as they're not stuck on "no red underwear."

A Statement!

I knew the life of a writer would not be easy. I don't ask for an easy life, only a life worth living and that's why I answer the call.

Sony is winning!

After the E3 conference last night, it's clear that Sony has an upper hand on the competition with Nintendo and Microsoft. Last night at the conference, millions of fans watched around the world as Sony amazed moment after moment with upcoming games such as Kingdom Hearts 3 and Bungie's new project Destiny. There were also fascinating surprise previews that caught the eyes of cult fans as there was trailers for next years Final Fantasy XV and Mad Max. Releasing this holiday with the PS4 will be a variety of familiar games with many of popular titles to follow. The most attractive feature however are the specifications.
The main disappointment with Microsoft's Xbox One is the restrictions that will limit the fun gamers can have on their console. Such as the fact that the Xbox will need to be connected to the Internet in order to work. Also there is no word yet on whether you will be able to play used games on the Xbox. On the PlayStation 4, you can play games offline and not need connection to the Internet, you don't need to pay for Internet services and you can play used games. Also the only new addition for the Xbox is the ability to play blu-rays but still behind the PS4 which will be able to play blu-rays in both regular and 3D formats. Plus the PS4 gave one additional surprise that sent fans running to the game stores and online retailers, the price.
The Xbox One which at best is moderately behind the PS4 in terms of technology and glare is also more expensive by $100 more. Microsoft is charging more for their console than the popular technology titan by making the Xbox One $499 and the PS4 will only be valued at $399. The much anticipated new consoles have finally arrived but it seems that once again, Microsoft just can't get it right the first time. Now I don't have a publisher or an agent yet so I don't make a lot of money but I will be saving to get a new console this year and here is a hint, it won't be the Xbox One.

Respect must be paid.

Yesterday was the anniversary of "D-Day" which was the day the allies invaded Normandy and lost hundreds of lives in the process. Just think about it. Salty sea breeze filling your lungs early in the morning. Cold sweat dripping down your forehead and warm piss going down the side of your leg. You look at beaches surrounded by blockades and hills with machine guns pointing right at you, death is certain. How does somebody find the courage to face something so terrible?
That's why we have these days, because patriots of every country find that courage whether it's for family, country or that patriot feels what they're doing is the right thing. It was a day were brothers were lost and families were destroyed all over bigotry and hatred. If we must learn anything from "D-Day" is that no matter how much evil there is in the world, there will always be just as much good to confront it on a specific time and day. There is never one without the other and it's because of the fallen heroes of that day, we must remember and always respect.
Yes World War 2 brought out the worst in humanity, human beings showed the world how cruel we can be to one another. But we also proved how when the time comes to stand up what's right, those people will stand and put their lives on the line to make sure it never happens again. To forget this moment in history would be a dishonor to the blood that is one with the sand and water of those beaches. I hope every soul that was lost on that day is resting peacefully and are watching how grateful we all are of their sacrifice.

Plumbing in Heaven?

A Very Serious Question

By
Anthony Labson

They say when you go you’re allowed one question

when you go to the gates of Saint Peter.

Whether or not that’s true

I’ll try finding a way to let you know when I go.

But when I do I already know what I will ask.

It’s a very simple question but very important.

I’ve seen many films that show a version of Heaven

and they’re all different but with one common denominator.

Because of that I know what question I will ask.

It’s not going to be,

Why were I there and what was the meaning?

It’s over with so what’s the point of asking anyway.

My question will be something that will affect me

for all of eternity and will be guarantee my happiness.

When I go up to Saint Peter and I’m allowed a question

I will ask.

Where are all the toilets?

Seriously, over 20 films and

20 versions of Heaven and I’ve never

seen anyone having to go to the bathroom.

Maybe that explains the fact that when we go

we have one more bowel movement.

Do our digestive systems not work in Heaven?

People can eat the best food and drink the finest wines

but does nobody really have to go number 1 or 2?

Do we use a cloud?

Is there a cloud for everyone or are they public?

Come to think of it, is there toilet paper available?

Or do we use a piece of the cumulous?

I apologize if this seems awkward or uncomfortable

but I would just like to know that for my own sake

because only in Hell

you’re spending eternity without relief.
